Do you believe every choice you have made has resulted in
exactly where you are today?
Do you believe in Karma and the law that ‘what goes around
comes back around’? Good Karma, Bad Karma --- in a few seconds, a few minutes,
maybe even years – do you believe that every single bad event that has happened
in your life, you have somehow caused it to happen to you?
Maybe this is true but then I ask myself, how about
babies/children that are/have been hurt by others? They obviously didn’t create
any karma that would cause them such pain? Right? Then l begin to think --- can
karma transcended from parents, maybe grandparents to children? So l use the
only reference l know to validate my thoughts on karma and it says –
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one
sows, that will he also reap.
Whoever digs a pit will fall into it, and a stone will come
back on him who starts it rolling.
For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh
reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap
eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we
will reap, if we do not give up.
From this, it’s clear as day - right?
I believe what goes around comes back around. In the case of
children, l do believe that although extremely unfair – bad decisions from
parents can trickle down to children.
As a grown up, when you think about karma from this
perspective - l feel like it makes some unfortunate events that have happened
in life more tolerable. In other words, you realize that something bad that may
have happened to you (unfair or not) somehow you created it – somehow was from
a choice or series of choices that you made – l believe this logic makes the
world go round.
And on that note, if you truly understand this concept –
doesn’t it make you want to make better decisions in life? God knows that some
events that have happened in my life although unfair maybe even warranted, l
created it from a single decision or from a bad mishap l have created in
someone else’s life (not intentionally of course) AND… there are some horrible events
that l don’t think l created or don’t think l deserved but happened to me. I
wonder, where and how that happened – someone’s else’s karma, perhaps.
I can’t explain it all but what l know for sure is that – we
should all live our lives trying to make the best choices/decisions that we can
live with …. Choices that are RIGHT! Choices that won’t bite us in the ass!
Choices that won’t trickle down to the next generation! So does this mean to an
extent as human beings, we can directly and indirectly for the most part pick
our own struggles? Cause isn’t it true that no matter what kind of life we live
– there are always struggles, unfortunate events, lows etc. So – instead of us
as human beings trying to work towards a life without struggles maybe work
towards a life where we create more tolerable struggles from the choices we
make? What if you challenged yourself?
