Isn’t it amazing how certain people remind you of certain
times in your life?
It seems like a lifetime ago now but really it isn’t?
It seems like a whole lot has changed but really not a lot
has?
I’m still puzzled why the mind works in such a way that a song
can completely trigger an emotion caused by a memory?
I know the brain is powerful but don’t we control it? If indeed
we control it, why are we triggered by sounds, words, music, laughter, PEOPLE
in unique ways?
I have an incessant WhatsApp Group chat with my high school
classmates – either those MFs don’t have a job or they are constantly bored
because even though l want to know (ITK) what’s going on, the notification
overwhelms me. Yes, l don’t want to have to constantly open the App whenever l
receive a message which is every other second (most days) so I’m left with 500+
messages daily that l read via my notifications toolbar.
How did l land back to my old and familiar blog – an emotion
that was triggered by a certain someone that actually inspired the conception
of Insipid Snippets of a Wannabe Editor.
Life is funny – isn’t it.
Happy New Year!
Anyway – let me continue, so l navigated to my blog and
noticed a few legit comments on various posts – l need to delete some spam
comments #stupidpeople and thought wow – how cool people are actually checking
my severely rarely updated blog. #howcool 😊
Truthfully, l wish l could say – New Year, New Me – I’ll
post on a regular, my views on current events or just anything interesting l
want to write about but that’s as fallacious as it was when l said so last
year. So, I’ll be honest and say I’ll post when my mind is triggered by an
event that lands me here. Maybe if I’m completely honest with myself, I’ll end
up posting twice this year – that’s double the amount from last year. #progress
So – my 2018 Goal, be honest with myself in every sense of
the word from every angle in my life.
Check out this ridiculousness - https://nypost.com/2018/02/05/parents-told-13-year-old-son-he-had-brain-cancer-in-scheme-to-raise-cash-cops/
I listen to the Breakfast Club most mornings with Charlamagne tha
God, Angela Yee & DJ Envy. Charlamagne has a donkey of the day segment
where he gives idiotic people, donkey of the day. Take a listen - https://thebreakfastclub.iheart.com/content/2018-02-06-florida-parents-convince-their-child-he-has-brain-cancer-to-make-money/
This actually stood out to me because I’ve lost a loved one
to cancer and this takes evil, greed and manipulation to another level. Charlamagne
should have awarded this couple, Donkey of the Century because of the degree of
psychological damage this kid has endured and will endure in foster care. My
prayer goes out to this kid and any other unfortunate kid that is/has been damaged for selfish reasons. #unrelatable
After reading and listening to the above, refresh your mind
with one of the best books I’ve read this year tile ‘The Subtle Art of Not
Giving a Fuck” by Mark Manson. This has to be one of the realest books I’ve
read. The best book I’ve read is still ‘The Strangest Secret’ by Earl Nightingale but
Mark Manson’s book cuts it pretty close. Think everyone needs to read the books
listed above – if it doesn’t make you step back and think then I’m sorry.
Anyway – need to get back to work, so until my next post!
xoxo
